Making the best of narrow places with clever Bathroom Design and Kitchen Designs in Sydney

A client of ours requested our Home Renovation services in Sydney. The client was after a Bathroom Renovation, a Kitchen Renovation and a Laundry Renovation in a Sydney suburb of Darlington.  The client’s place was a very narrow space typical of inner Sydney suburbs like Darlington.

The existing kitchen was outdated and did not suit the layout or the design of the property. A clever Kitchen Renovation was needed to create the illusion of a bright space, more storage, better functionality and modern Kitchen Design.

The bathroom was old and narrow with bad lighting. It only had one small window causing wet area problems and mould. The laundry was exposed and part of the kitchen and our client wanted a separate laundry design which was hidden.

As usual our client asked us to install everything in the galley style kitchen design such as dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, laundry tub, kitchen sink. This was difficult because of the lack of space or wall areas.

Instile’s Bathroom Renovation and Kitchen Designs team had to come up with something spectacular within the client’s budget.

First of all as part of the Kitchen Design and Kitchen Renovation services all kitchen cabinets were designed without door handles creating a sleek clean line on one side of the kitchen wall. As part of the kitchen design a half sized dishwasher was installed and was fully integrated into the kitchen cabinetry. All kitchen cabinets have unique storage facility and soft close draws. All our prices and kitchen designs include polyurethane kitchens and Caesar stone bench tops as standard.

As part of the bathroom renovation a fully ducted fan was installed through the ceiling to solve the mould problem. To fit the character of the property Instile’s bathroom renovations team choose tiles 400mmx200mm laid in a brick pattern. To compliment the bathroom design a second hand bath tub was purchased which was polished and resurfaced to match the 1930’s look of the new bathroom design. The toilet and all other bathroom accessories were matched. The new laundry renovation was entirely hidden as part of the bathroom renovation behind a roller shutter door to keep the space sleek, clean and clutter free. The entire laundry was custom made for the space available.

Can I stay at home during a bathroom renovation or kitchen renovation?

Our bathroom renovation starts with the preparation stage on day 1. Instile Renovations will cover your floors, furnishings or move any furniture that may be in the way. Preparation is followed by the demolition stage on day 2 which means that your toilet will be disconnected and you will need to find alternative arrangements for approximately 2 weeks. Usually there is a spare toilet in most buildings. If you have 2 toilets then there is no problem.

You can expect a lot of noise and dust if you decide to stay at home during the day while we demolish the bathroom or the kitchen. This is usually carried out within a day or two including the removal of all debris. After the demolition stage all noise will be kept to a minimum, however a variety power tools will be used for the remainder of the renovation period. It is best to be out for the day as on your return you will find that Instile Renovation has completely cleaned up your place. It will feel like we were not even there. Instile Renovations cleans up each day so you will have no dust or any rubbish left behind.

While Instile Renovation works on your new bathroom or kitchen the rest of your house wont be effected.

Your bathroom renovation will be completed within 21 days. Your toilet will be working within 14 days.
